If you’ve read my first blog about the Valtonen Motorsport RX7 a couple weeks ago you probably read that I hoped that that blog wasn’t my last for Wangan Warriors. Luckily for me, here I am with number two! This time I got invited to the WNGN 2K16 event held at an old military terrain near Venray. The forecast for the day was really bad but we did have some good moments to take photos. Continue reading
Dropped: That particular Lexus
It’s a shame that I don’t attend various events that often anymore. Not that I’m not interested in them but my motivation to be on the road and driving to many places eased a lot over the past two years. Every once in a while I do decide to behave a little different and I go on a little impromtu trip. When I found out that the ‘Dropped’ event was taking place near my home, it didn’t take me too long to decide to go over and have a look. Continue reading
Spotlight: Ash’s CRX
As promised in my blog of Mimms Honda Day I present you a little spotlight of Ash his magnificent CRX. At the Stanced Daily meet, my roadtrip buddy Stijn contacted Ash if he was in for a little photoshoot. Luckily he was and who turns down a free photoshoot right? He drove to the meeting and from there we went to the Excell building in London. Continue reading
Work in progress; A quick update on project Hakosuka
It’s been a while since I’ve given you an update on DBM Engineering’s project Hakosuka but don’t worry, I’ve carried on following this build ever since the last blog I wrote about this project of epic proportions. Continue reading
Honda Del Sol you’re not expecting
We like to tell a story every once in a while, especially when we come across something that’s worth giving some extra attention. We get to see hundreds, even thousands of cars when we’re shooting and writing for this blog and we’re excited when we encounter something very interesting. If you’re not a Honda fan, this Del Sol might not impress you, but trust me there’s more to this car than meets the eye. Allow me to take you through Bennie Kerkhof’s project story. Continue reading
I love the eighties!
Aaaah yes! The eigthies. The Teenage mutant ninja turtles were created. The Dutch football team actually won something. I was born (1983). Miami Vice. The Berlin wall fell. Punkrock. The golden age of graffiti. Akira. Jan Lammers wins the 24H of LeMans. Back to the future. Skateboarding. U2. MTV still broadcasted actual music videos. The A-team. Walkmans were cool. GI Joe. Cindy Crawford was my first crush when I was five. Last, but certainly not least, my first car (an AW11 MR2) rolled out of the factory! Oh, and it was the decade of boxy, Japanese, four-door saloons. The answer is always Miata
As Allard already mentioned in his recent coverage of the DMPD show in Itterbeck, most of the people attending the show stayed at a local ferienpark for the weekend. Maurice and I, along with some of my Roadster Crew mates, decided to attend this years edition. One of my friends had to work on the Saturday so couldn’t make the main event but told me he would drive over afterwards because he had something to show me. With him being an editor for a few car-related magazines that could mean anything from a Jag to a Nissan Leaf, but when he arrived at our cabin the remarkably familiar sound of a Mazda 4-in-line told me it was neither of the two.
It turns out that Mazda Nederland had given him a brand new Mazda MX-5 ND to test for a weekend, and what better way to test one than on the many b-roads that snake through this part of Germany?

Love to be hated
I’m going to start with an apology. Why? Well, It took me two years to shoot this feature. Two. Years. It all started at DMPD 2013 because that’s where I met Alex Gut and his BNR32 for the first time. I knew straight away that I just had to do a proper shoot with his car. The wheels, the stance, the fact that Alex was a really nice guy from the get go. So Alex, I’m sorry I didn’t shoot it sooner buddy! Continue reading
50 shades of grey
Gatebil. As I mentioned in my event coverage, about everything there is to say or write about it has been written or said. The same goes for the Toyota/Subaru/Scion GT86/BRZ/FRS. In the relatively short time this model is on the market, about anything you can think of in terms of modifications has been done. The funny thing is though that most of the heavily modified GT86’s/BRZ’s/FRS’s seems to either reside in the States or Japan with the odd exception in Europe or Australia. So when I stumbled upon this GT86 I knew I had to feature it! Continue reading
A weekend with the Infiniti Q50 “IPL”
Aaaah, the joy of shooting cars! I normally get to spend a couple of hours at best to shoot a car, but not in this case – this baby was mine for a whole weekend! It was a no brainer when Chris Visscher from Infiniti Netherlands asked me to do a website and brochure shoot. So without further ado I proudly present to you; The Infiniti Q50 “Inspiration Line”! Continue reading
