Japanese Performance Show

Japanese Performance Show is a new concept in the UK. Not that it’s the first Japanese show, nor is it the first performance show but it’s a new direction of car show events because it’s the very first Japanese Performance Show with an indoor venue. Stijn and myself decided to do a trip to the UK to see what this event was all about. What made us try out a new event which was held for the very first time at a location we didn’t know and pretty far from our home? Was it worth the trip? Cruising, BBQ’ing and a barn full of awesome

Become a photographer they said! It will be fun they said! Well to be honest, for about 99% of the time it is fun. But as always some gigs, shoots, days are better then   others. So when I got an invite from Kees “street race” Reijne to join him for a BBQ with his buddies in their barn, I knew that this would be one of those Saturdays that would be just a “little” better than your average Saturday! Happy 8-6 day: The classic VS the classic to be?

Hachiroku. Initial D. Keichi Tsuchiya. Just some numbers/words/names to some, the start of a life dedicated to drifting for others. Introduced in 1983 it was the last of the rear wheel drive corollas and proved to be pretty popular amongst car enthusiasts and not just amongst drifters as it’s been just in a European GT classes, Japanese and US Group A and N classes and even proved a popular chassis for rallying.
But alas, like I said it was the last of the RWD corollas and although Toyota still proved to be capable of building iconic sports cars like the Supra or MR2 it took some time before they would develop a new, affordable front engined, rear wheel driven sportscar.

Happy 8-6 day: Arams Levin notchback

Imagine this: you are at a birthday party and at some point during the evening the topic changes to cars. Everyone around the table is bragging about the in-car-entertainment system in their lease Polo and the speed of their Tiptronic gearbox, and then all eyes turn to you.
