Certain people have good taste. Taste in food, architecture, art, fashion, whatever it may be. I met this guy Ash in the UK a while back only because he has good taste in cars. I would not have met him if he wasn’t in love with ’80s classic Japanese cars. That’s a fact. With that in mind I realise I’m happy to come across so many amazing people while I’m on a trip for this website and I believe some good friendships have come out of certain moments. This makes me very happy. Continue reading

Japanese Performance Show
Japanese Performance Show is a new concept in the UK. Not that it’s the first Japanese show, nor is it the first performance show but it’s a new direction of car show events because it’s the very first Japanese Performance Show with an indoor venue. Stijn and myself decided to do a trip to the UK to see what this event was all about. What made us try out a new event which was held for the very first time at a location we didn’t know and pretty far from our home? Was it worth the trip? I hope you’ll read further either way but I’ll give you the answer to that question right now. It was absolutely 100% worth making the trip to the UK for the JPShow2016. Continue reading
Spotlight: Ash’s CRX
As promised in my blog of Mimms Honda Day I present you a little spotlight of Ash his magnificent CRX. At the Stanced Daily meet, my roadtrip buddy Stijn contacted Ash if he was in for a little photoshoot. Luckily he was and who turns down a free photoshoot right? He drove to the meeting and from there we went to the Excell building in London. Continue reading
Mimms Honda Day 2015 – End of season finale
During a lazy weeknight, I was browsing on Facebook wasting some time when I saw a message from a buddy of mine who was looking for a co-driver to join him on a trip to Mimms. It caught my attention, I’ve never been to England before and I was curious to see this event and also to see how the UK scene compares to the Netherlands. I had over 25 days of holiday left from work to spare, so I said to myself “Why the hell not?!”. We cruised down to Duinkerke to get the boat to Dover, it was a crazy moment when coming to the French border with the current police and military presence. They stood there with automatic guns after all the drama which has unfortunately unfolded during the past few weeks. Continue reading
The grass is always greener on the other side
Living in Holland has it’s advantages when you’re into cars and motor sports. The famous Nürburgring is just a couple of hours away, Spa Francorchamps is practically around the corner, Le Mans is just a 6 hour drive and if you want you can hop on a plane and you’re in England in just 45 minutes. Seeing as we, Wangan Warriors, are car guys at heart, we opted for the only right way to visit the latter: By car! Continue reading
Crossing the Channel with a GTR
Every time I step into a new adventure I’m wondering what the final result will be of what I’ve captured and how close it comes to my satisfaction. Usually I have some sort of a plan because my regular work for Wangan Warriors is fairly limited to car features or event coverage. I can tell you that it gets easier every time I’m going out there shooting but I was a little insecure about the adventure I had lying in front of me. Purely how I would approach it photographically. Continue reading
