What´s 2019 gonna bring?!

“This year is going to be so much better then last year!”. But is it going to be so much better? And what makes it a good year?

Before looking forward to this year I want to look back to a rough year of 2018. A year I only wrote two blogs for Wangan and barely touched my camera. A year we only published a total of six blogs.

Jesse’s 4th gen Civic – Build for purpose

In a very small village somewhere in the south-west of the Netherlands you can find Jesse de Smit, the owner of this Civic. The roads around town are not wide enough to fit 2 cars, the cell phone signal is very weak and it is very quiet around there. In Jesse’s backyard there is a small garage where Jesse spends a lot of time improving his toy.

Mimms Honda day 2016

People often ask my why I drive all the way to the UK for a car event. Aren’t there any events closer by? Is it worth the long trip? To be short: yes, it is worth the trip! The scene in the UK is much bigger compared to our scene in the Netherlands and there is a lot to see. Me and my friend Kenneth jumped in the Honda Aerodeck and went to Mimms Honda day, a trackday for Honda’s only.

JDM sunset at the beach

JDM sunset at the beach is a Japanese car oriented event held at a beautiful location right by the South-West part of the Dutch coast. I was not too sure to make the trip together with my fellow WNGN shooters because we had at least a 2 hour drive and not knowing what we would find on location. Little did I know it was worth making the trip because we had a pretty good evening after all at this meet. Continue reading

Off to new beginnings

If I would rewind twelve months back right now I would find myself walking on an icy Nürburgring shooting for a passion project I’ve been working on for over three years now. I was a little unsure about the future because I had just lost my regular day job and I didn’t have an outlook on something new. Pretty scary to be honest but little did I know it was the start of a new chapter for me. Continue reading

Holy Datsun

Every once in a while we come across amazing projects, projects which we usually don’t find very easily but I have the feeling that this has changed. Lately it seems we’re on top of things and we’re bringing you some of the most exclusive stuff we’ve ever shot; don’t you agree? Well it’s indeed quite easy for me to say, because I know what our bloggers are up to in the coming weeks and months. With Allard covering the immaculate S14 in the Raising The Bar series and the masterly Soarer of Albin Droogsma, I’m happy to follow that up with something we don’t see every day either. And no, this is not the last of it because our very own Alex will share some grandiose work as well. Just sit tight! Continue reading

Unadulterated S15

A few months ago, some of the Wangan Warriors decided to drag me along on their trip to the Nürmeet 2013. During one of the days there, we spotted a nice S15. Quickly I went over to the owner and asked him if he’d be up for a photoshoot… Needless to say, he was. A lovely tour through the Eifel was planned for that day, so were were a bit short on time. Luckily I was able to spend enough time with this very clean and proper JDM Silvia to capture some photos of it. Continue reading

Oosterhout: Growing bigger and bigger

If you’re into cars, and JDM rides in particular, then there are a few events each year that are highlighted in your agenda. Of course there’s the Season opener in Amersfoort (organized by our great team), DMPD (and all DMPD related events) and of course our very own End of Year meeting in Oosterhout. This year marked the fourth anniversary of an event that grows bigger every year! Continue reading
