This week we have something a little different for our wallpaper item. I always have my eyes open for other peoples creativity and I’m constantly looking around on the photopages of other photographers to see what they’re up to. Sometimes it’s just inspiring for myself to better my photography and sometimes it might be a new page or website I visit regularly for some fresh entertainment. Continue reading

Happy 86 Day: One for all generations
Happy 86 day everybody! Who would have guessed that the small lightweight Corolla which was introduced in 1983 would have such an impact to a couple of generations of car enthusiasts? It seems that the AE86, Hachiruku, Levin or whatever variant of this legendary model became a big part of us. Continue reading
Happy 8-6 day: The classic VS the classic to be?
Hachiroku. Initial D. Keichi Tsuchiya. Just some numbers/words/names to some, the start of a life dedicated to drifting for others. Introduced in 1983 it was the last of the rear wheel drive corollas and proved to be pretty popular amongst car enthusiasts and not just amongst drifters as it’s been just in a European GT classes, Japanese and US Group A and N classes and even proved a popular chassis for rallying.
But alas, like I said it was the last of the RWD corollas and although Toyota still proved to be capable of building iconic sports cars like the Supra or MR2 it took some time before they would develop a new, affordable front engined, rear wheel driven sportscar.
Happy 8-6 day: Arams Levin notchback
Imagine this: you are at a birthday party and at some point during the evening the topic changes to cars. Everyone around the table is bragging about the in-car-entertainment system in their lease Polo and the speed of their Tiptronic gearbox, and then all eyes turn to you.
What do you say? Blue 2-door Toyota Corolla, 16 inch alloys, 4-cil engine with little creature comforts… not exactly the stuff of legends right? Right? Continue reading
Between crimson and violet: A showstopping Soarer
Dedication is a concept you can’t really put a number on. That is, until you have to travel almost 600km from Leipzig all the way to Nijmegen for a car event… That’s over 6 hours of driving! Combine that with a recently refreshed car that looks the bee’s knees, and you have the recipe for a car that needs to be put in the spotlight.

Supra with a Ridox jacket
There are people who love the attention, live for the fame and hope their car is captured in every shot taken at an event. On the other hand we have those that will not appear at shows at all nor do they spam their projects except on one, or maybe two carforums. Both of those people have every right to do whatever they want. The first person might provide us with awesome photos and video material shot by some of the best photographers of our scene and the latter just surprises us when we least expect it. Continue reading

Raising the bar: Meet the Droogsma’s!
You know that feeling when you witness something special for the first time? It penetrates your senses where it leaves a permanent desire. A desire that needs to be fed, that grows over time. It makes you curious and you start a hunt to feed that desire. It’s like a drug because if you’re not careful it will become an addiction.
I guess I haven’t been careful enough because my desire has turned into a full fledged addiction! Continue reading
Art of the GT86
It’s easy to agree that us gearheads consider cars or car-projects as art. I myself am absolutely in love with the Toyota GT86 and fortunately I got to drive one myself the other day at Co-ordSport. In the same week I got to photograph one as well at our End of Year meet in Oosterhout and this was a photoshoot which has been on my to do list for some time now. I got in touch with the owner Gunther Lamberts and and agreed that I would spend some quality time with his Toyota at the meet. Continue reading
Introducing Daniël’s Aristo: I was born on a mountainside
Allow me to introduce our newest Wangan Warriors member, Daniël Waare and his Toyota Aristo. If I recall correctly it was Super Sunday 2011 at the Zandvoort circuit when I first laid eyes on this impressive piece of machinery. At that time I had no idea how his project would evolve or who the owner was. In fact, Daniël, were you the owner back then? Nonetheless we are absolutely honoured and pleased with his presence in our cosy car club. I wanted to take everybody through a little journey from my first acquaintance with Daniël until the fun moments we already had in the past few months. Continue reading
